Artist's Comments

Something a little different. I decided to try shooting the sky, without any foreground subject, to see if I could conjure up something fresh. Basically it's called a sky-scape or something.

I think it turned out fine for me. Not sure how you, the audience, would find it.

Full view recommended.

I've seen many skyscapes. But this however, lacks depth, not because of the range of tonal values, but for the tonal contrasts to evoke depth.

A sky-scape, being devoid of the many elements which construct a picture, has to be intriguing. A play on tonality, depth, composition, form and shape are a few approaches to tackle this very challenging photographic subject.

On another note, the range of tones in this photograph do have an intriguing arrangement to facilitate visual balance and some sort of aerial perspective. The lovely typography helps too.

Thanks for the feedback. Will continue to hone on tackling this particular photographic category.
